Scotch assembly adhesive tape When mounting and fastening some things in a room you can't always use traditional nails and bolt screws as they can often damage a surface. In this case it's better to use special assembly adhesive tapes. We will consider one of them taking Scotch tape as an example produced by 3М. Tape is cut in squares of 2.5х2.5cm and is represented as spring foamed base with adhesive coat on two sides covered with protective material (liner). We will fasten a frame for a demonstrative example. We should degrease a surface with alcohol or solvent before sticking. Then we should stick squares on a mounted object and fasten them strongly, then remove the second protective coating and stick a frame to a necessary surface. A stuck object mustn't be loaded during an hour because strength of adhesive assembly is increased in time. It should be noticed that this tape is intended for constant mounting of object of 900 g and less and is characterized with high shear and tear strength therefore if you need demount an object firstly it's better to cut a foamed layer and then remove tape remains from surfaces. Thus, using Scotch assembly adhesive tapes you will have no problems with decoration.

Please don’t make the same mistake I did and use this for fragile posters all over your walls. It WILL leave residue, which resulted in me attempting to scrape off the remaining adhesive. It’s great for heavy-duty frames, but be prepared to take off part of your wall and possibly damage the back of the frame after you take it down. I’m sticking to blue poster tack now, just so I don’t damage the walls even more than I already have. Oh well, I needed to repaint soon anyways. Hope this was of some sort of help to someone.
