2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport - A hidden hybrid
Показать описание
The 2020 Range Rover Sport features an optional plug-in hybrid powertrain offering impressive fuel economy gains over the outgoing gas engine.
The new Range Rover Sport offers something few Land Rovers have been known for: fuel economy. With a tested combined miles per gallon (mpg) rating of 25.5, generated over 60 miles of varying terrain and traffic, the new plug-in hybrid powertrain offers nearly 7 mpg over the gas-powered 2019 model’s combined rating. Combine this with the knowledge that even the supercharged V6 engine will receive mild-hybrid updates, and it's clear that the 2020 Range Rover Sport will travel farther on a gallon of gas than ever.
The plug-in hybrid set up will generate 398 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque, sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The regenerative brakes work well, and with its adjustable air suspension, this SUV can ford 33.4 inches of standing water.
Technology is impressive, if a bit inconsistent. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available, but safety features are plentiful. Cargo space is impacted by the battery housed beneath the trunk’s floor, and there aren’t many interior storage cubbies. But 4-zone automatic climate control had Chris’ daughter exclaiming that the Range Rover Sport was, “the best test car ever!”
