What I knew I needed to do was cancel out the x's to get 0=36, so I set 24(q) equal to 9 because 9 was the only number that could cancel out the x's. Then I divided 24 by both sides to isolate q and got q=9/24, which simplifies to 3/8. Hopefully this helps!
