Ag Tires Vs R14 Tires. How I Made My Decision!

You hit the nail on the head. The R14's are definitely more suited for driving on hard surfaces, grass and packed yards. The Ag tires are more for field work. You have a great dealer to allow you to switch them at a small premium.

R14 is perfect, good mud traction, good floatation, and in the yard with 2wd and open diff it doesn’t tear up yard at all. That’s one thing I love about tractors, very little mess compared to a skidsteer.

Great video. I’m probably goin with Ag tires because I do a lot of dirt work and pull trees. Plus about 1-2 acres of my pasture get muddy when it rains heavily. I will request the widest tires on the front that won’t void my warranty

I like my Industrial tires most of the time. Plus they have a valve stem guard and the At tires don’t a lot of times. Good for working in the woods etc.

I have Ag tires on my L3200 which is my discing and brush mowing tractor and I have R14 on my B2301 loader tractor. And they are both good choices for the intended uses of each tractor, neither tractor is used on pavement the loader tractor is used to move snow on a gravel driveway.

Hadn't heard of the R14s, just the skidsteer type vs ag. Had the unpleasure of driving a new lil JD on the skidsteer type. Bouncy neck breaker and weak traction. Wondered wtf their purpose was. Your new style tires look pliable, just a pinch less aggressive than ag, not as urban as turf tires. Looks like a good compromise, good decision for the job.

I upgraded and not sorry and they didn't have the R14's back then

I noticed you had to change out your rims also. Will they fit on ag rims?

Those where unusually narrow ag tires. For the size of machine.
If it was larger ag on those bigger rims.
Ive seen a few that ran industrials on front and ag on rear. Doing mostly loader work on solid ground. But also occasionally need traction pulling a trailer off road ect.

Matt, I have the R-14's on my tractor as well and it does handle the hevier bucket loads but you will still need some kind of ballast on your three point hitch and also think of filling the tires with some weight as well.

You’ll love the R14’s. I have them on my kioti ck 3510 I use for firewood as well. You’ll be wanting something for ballast/counterweight soon. I made a video recently about moving full ibc totes of green oak around with my kioti, just haven’t finished editing it yet. I Always enjoy your videos!
