Your dad and Himalyan have similar personality - basic, simple, mature, tough, down to earth, no frills, no BS !.
Regarding service and parts delays, may be you can contact RE and tell'em to improve on this. I hope they watch your videos.

Your dad’s so stoic in the video, but I bet he’s not in real life;)! Nice looking dad and son. Like the color scheme on the RE!!

Nice video. I have gone from BMW and ordered a Himalayan for exactly the same reasons as your father.

I love the simplicity of this bike, modern bike are over engineered, however an increase in HP would be a benefit.

Now understood why you are so "Bright Rider". Good and supportive family is the base of human life. So nice to share motorbiking passion with your father. Congratulations for this wise man going down from GS monster to a simple, reliable bike, which will not "eat" the road, but will bring anyone everywhere around the world. 90-100 km/h will let you see that world. What else you might add? Just a full of curiosity and joy heart. Regards to family and keep doing your fresh videos :))

We wish the RE Himalayan comes with the RE 650 twin's engine. 👌👌

After reading some comments, I realized I didn't talk about the fuel consumption and the torque, which are both also very beneficial on this bike! That'll be for the next one!

Greetings from India. Your Dad is definitely a rock star. Reminds me of my dad who rides a 30 year old RE. Just wanted to make a point that while the Himalayan may seem under powered, a lot of the power comes at pretty low RPMs. So it's a charm when a tackling off-roads . Cheers!

I agree with the answer to the opening question. I went from a Yamaha xtz750 Super tenere to a Himalayan.
