This is my first video of yours and I'm already hooked! I love you guys. Keep doing what you do! Thanks for making my life better! Larnell Lewis on drumset is my favorite drummer. Cory Henry on keys is my favorite keyboardist. Michael League on bass is the mastermind behind this whole thing. He's my all time favorite musician. The trumpetist who had the solo usually plays keys for this band showing how multitalented these musicians are. Each one of these guys is a freaking wizard. I also love that through the whole beginning section the offbeat is easier to feel then the downbeat. The drummer also learned all but 2 of the songs from this album on the plane ride to record this. Their planned drummer had problems with his passport so they called in Larnell as a replacement

We Like It Here is the name of the album. Red headphones are musicians, silver are the audience. They filmed every take of every sing. Every video us the actual album version of the song

This is track one. I recommend going through the entire album as every track is great and very different. Then you will end with the biggest treat of all, "Lingus."

The strings are playingvfrom charts. They aren't officially in the band. The others are. The hirn section have no charts. There is a 39 minute very fun documentary on the making of the album amd the 12 day/12 shows toymur of Europe they did. Their first ever tour of Europe.

The band has won four Grammys and various members (the lineup varies) have won Grammys elsewhere. Every member is an expert on at least one instrument.

Check out snarky puppy's biggest song lingus. It has one of the most impressive keyboard solos ever (no exaggeration). Also you have to check out an acapella band called voiceplay (trust me I was skeptical at first) I STRONGLY recommend their Valhalla calling or their nothing else matters cover.

Snarky Puppy is genius. A style of music from their own. Listen to "Sylva" with the Metropole orchestra, which was good for a Grammy Award. The whole album. Michael League is a genius composer and brilliant bass player. Bill Laurence ( piano) is another genius in his own. Listen to his concert " live at Union chapel". Mindblowing stuff!!!!
All these guys are fan-fabulous-tastic!!!

Never heard of them before but it was pretty cool. I used to play trombone in jazz & concert bands and orchestra too. I will definitely be checking them out!

great introduction to Snarky Puppy - this song is the first on the 2013 Album. They recorded over 4 days in Utrecht, The Netherlands and I believe the title "We Like It Here" reflects that this Texas group loves playing in Europe.
However, as a plot twist, their regular drummer Robert Searight (Sput) had passport issues and couldn't make it.... So the bassist and group leader Michael League called Larnell Lewis in Canada to come play. Larnell learned most of the songs on the flight over from Canada, and basically had half a day before the first recording session that evening to rehearse etc. Of course, over the 4 days he had more time to rehearse and I'm not sure which day each of the final "album" releases were from, but is still an amazing feat when you watch Larnell drum on this album. He looks like he's been their drummer for years.
If you do try Trinity next you'll be in for a treat as Larnell is joined by two other drummers and Nate on percussion joined by 2 other percussionists. A crazy room and recording/production setup. Sounds amazing.
Or if you stick to this session first, Lingus is the one with the amazing keboard Solo by Cory Henry, but my favourite is Sleeper with a hosepipe solo full of expression that you will adore I think (and never will be able to look at a garden hose the same again!)

This song is generally their concert closing song. It's so catchy that while going out of the venue, the spectators are still singing it! I don't see that often after jazz concerts!

I literally don’t know why you have not been recommended The Warning. They are playing with Band-Maid within days in Japan. The Warning are three Sisters from Mexico and are taking the world by storm. They are so amazing that their live sound overrides their album sound. I encourage you to check out The Warning and YES any song by the ladies is such greatness. YOU BEEN WARNED!!!!
