The New 2022 Audi RS3 on Track! - One Take

Although I can't *tell* you how the new 2022 Audi RS3 drives on the road or the track until June 1st embargo, I can certainly *show* you what it's like with a few laps of the East course at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch. The 2022 Audi RS3 features a 401HP Turbocharged TFSI 5-Cylinder engine, 7-speed S-Tronic Dual Clutch Gearbox, and the new RS Torque Splitter, with active rear torque vectoring. The RS3 is the fastest production compact car ever around the Nurburgring at 7:40.48 with the optional Dynamic Package and factory installed Pirelli Trofeo R tires.

Audi provided the vehicle, racetrack, hotel and meals for this video.

I’ve had my 2018 RS3 since 2017 and it now has 85k. Not a single problem and I beat it very hard daily. Best car I’ve ever owned. Amazing drivetrains!

I really like the slight redesign on the RS3. Also the sound of the 5 cylinder engine at redline is so good, just needs an exhaust

Seems like it rotates very well! Definitely needs an exhaust to really hear that 5 cylinder.

"They've added chicanes for safety...not my safety, other people's safety" 🤣🤣 Is it just me or is every single digital gauge package lamer than the analog gauges they replaced? There isn't a single digital gauge cluster in automotive history I would pick over a good set of regular gauges... (maybe the S2k. Maybe)

1.2 Gs in the final corner at 60 mph. And 101 mph on the straight, just before braking for the 'safety chicane'. Yeah, it's super capable.. an update on one of the best combos of 4 wheel drive, +400ish HP, 4 doors and enough luxury/tech to satisfy the Cali crowd. Nuf said.

Looks tight! I've autocrossed and owned an older S4 and an STI, and this looks more like my STI than my S4 going around cones, which is a good thing. My S4 would have been diving and body rolling a lot more.

it's a damn shame, i never thought i would be in this situation but now that i can afford something like this they are nowhere to be seen and there's no way in hell i'm owning a used RS3 out of warranty (i don't care how reliable people say they are) for basically msrp. incredible cars though, seems they do everything very well

Downpipe and tune and you have a comfortable daily driver that’ll run consistent 10s reliably.

Matt will you compare it to the S3 when you review it? Is it worth the extra$$$. Also can you comment on how much the Trofeo R tires help with understeer and handling. Im more interested in the road comparisons. Thx!

That dude at Evolve Automotive dug it over the last gen RS3 and he’s a total Beemer Boy. Something about improvements in understeering.
