Marshall, great stuff. Please do one about the Pop-Off Valves. I'm old and recall instances of drivers saying their valve opened unexpectedly. I don't recall that happening recently so how about an update?

Glad the tech gurus have it under control. It’s way above the rest of us!

Thank you, for your great coverage! With the Hybrid assit next, I hope they eliminate the extra boost. To me it's just a gimmick, and doesn't really equate to race performance.

F1 should be a warmup race for IndyCar. have a breakfast with beer, watch F1, get bored, go to sleep and wakeup energetic ready for all out IndyCar action race. happy ending..🤩

Ok, so this is "Tongue in Cheek" but I have to make this observation. This new marshaling system is definitely "Cutting Edge, State of the Art" which is exactly what any Indianapolis 500 fan could/would expect from Mr. Roger "The Captain" Penske at the helm. BUT...I contend that if USAC would have had even a sliver of this system's capability then they would have sorted out the 1966 "real time" scoring and Jimmy Clark would be in the record books the driver who won two 500's in a row in 65 & 66. As long as I'm dreaming (with ALL DUE RESPECT to Rufus Parnell and Anthony Joseph Jr. Of course Jones and Foyt, undoubtedly true ICONS at the Speedway and who will 'til my "Last Day" remain as my all time heroes) I'll indulge in some wishful thinking/deconstructing history. #1. Harlan Fengler would not have buckled under the pressure brought to bear by one J.C. Agajanian and would have given the sign for Pat Vidan to pull out the dreaded "Black Flag" and pointed it at the #98 Willard Battery Special signaling a pit road consultation thus handing to lead and certainly the 1963 victory to the rookie, "The Flying Scot" and #2. Colin Chapman would have foreseen the inherent mistake of his allegiance to Dunlop Tire Company and instead bolted on a set of Firestones for the 1964 event which most definitely NOT failed Jimmy and the team by "chunking" away the tread because they were not up to the stressors dealt out at IMS and thus saving the suspension integrity and Mr. Clark would have sailed on easily to his "Second in a Row" victory. All in all "The Greatest Grand Prix Driver of All Time" Jimmy Clark would have, not only been the first driver to WIN FOUR Indianapolis 500's and he would WIN FOUR IN A ROW which is a record which would NEVER be broken...EVER! (Thank you for indulging me in my "Flight of Fancy" and if you read this wordy diatribe and if you'd enter a reply, you'll be my friend for life. Just kidding.) Enjoy the 107th running of "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" this May 28, 2023!!!
