Rude advertising - Giant Supermarket melaka malacca

In a sad effort to sell more of their old and damaged fruit and vegetables, Giant supermarket in Malacca (Dataran Palawan) had the idea of dropping a megaphone into the fruit itself, playing the same repeating sentence again and again and again. This is in addition to the blaring advertising playing over the main speakers. Bags aren't always provided to put the fruit in, so much of it is dropped while people are choosing and returned to the boxes bruised, where it quickly rots. Displays are 'cherry-culled' rather than cleaned outright, with new food just being dumped on top. People walk around with unbagged 'fresh' produce in their basked (unwrapped) but those baskets are never cleaned.

When you get to checkout, there are staff hanging around the till and they will search your shopping bag (really) and criticism you with passive aggressive comments if they think you packed YOUR shopping wrong, i.e. not putting enough fruit or veg into each bag.

Don't bother with this dump. Do a weekly shop in either Aeon or Tesco.
