The 3000 miles rule is from back when all oil was mineral oil. A synthetic oil can easily go double the mileage. It also depends if you're doing a lot of short trips. If you never fully warm up your engine you should change it sooner because of moisture. I bet if you got that oil in the video tested by an oil analysis lab, it'd turn out to be in fine condition. Just the color is not an accurate indicator for the condition the oil is in. On most diesels the oil will turn black after just a few hundred miles. You're right about the importance of oil changes though. It's just that it's kind of a waste to change it that often while it's not necessary. I mean obviously your engine will be quite happy with it, your wallet less so.

Dude whoever thinks that oil isn’t used is crazy. Keep it up. The results will show internally.

Well, think about it this way. The oil is doing its job if it's dark and dirty. A synthetic oil does a lot more cleaning due to its higher detergent concentration and will therefore get dirtier especially if you are switching an engine that has always had conventional oil, which has fewer detergents in it, over to synthetic. This is the only time I would change it more frequently until after a few oil changes and then start stretching it back out to the recommended interval. One thing I've noticed lately is that there is more synthetic oil than conventional on the shelves. I normally run synthetic but I was looking for a cheaper conventional oil to break in my new generator and then switch it to synthetic. The only conventional I could find was Valvoline 10W-30 amongst all the generic and major brand name synthetics. The point I'm trying to make is that you're most likely draining a synthetic at 3000 miles when you could be draining it at the recommended interval in the owner's manual which could be 6, 000 or even 10, 000 miles. The most important thing to remember is check your oil at least once or twice a week depending on conditions.

False, you do not need to change that often it's a waste of money. The color of that oil has nothing to do with the lubricating properties of the oil. I bet if you changed at 1, 000 miles it would look about the same. I change every 10, 000 miles with no issues.
