Loose dog shuts down California Highway

Traffic came to a stop on a California highway when a German shepherd ran loose. Highway patrol officers and other drivers were spotted working together to safely corral the dog.

Plot twist the dog was booked for questioning on suspicion of grand larceny. Apparently a few miles away someone stole a box of milk bones from a pet store.

❤a tip from paragraph guy that often works:
1 LONE person (just one) within the dogs sight but NOT chasing or calling the dog & is abt 30ft from the dog,
squats down & holds out their hand (slightly, but visible to the dog) like theres a treat in it (works even better if there really is a treat(if EVERYBODY has a treat this will not work, just confuse pups nose)). 8 out 10 times the dog will trot on over to collect that treat (could take a few minutes & everybody else needs to stop yelling & chasing the dog) at which point you either slide your hand under its collar to hold it there or hopefully you have some kinda collar/lease ( i once used my scarf & once used my shoe lace, even my belt) no sudden movements or GOTCHA's, just a lota quiet calm controled confidence
