There's no doubt about it, posting on Instagram has made me a better artist. How? It made me a better artist by increasing my awareness of what constitutes an effective photograph - good lighting, POV, use of props, etc. I learned this from seeing what other people have posted and seen how their approach to photographing their art works or doesn’t really work.

Also, Instagram shapes my creativity by allowing me to connect with other artist who then inspire me with their art. I have met and become online friends with a lot of wonderful artists who make me better.

Over 5 years, I've learned lots of things that I want to share with you primarily about showcasing your art but also the things you should be doing if you want people to find your work, and in turn, grow your network of artist connections. I also provide some content ideas in different styles for posting photos of your art

I'm talking about my experience with Instagram, but these tips will apply to using any kind of photo sharing app.

Two quick questions: how many posts a day/week is optimum for building exposure? When using hashtags, should a person gravitate to those hashtags with fewer posts because you're more likely to be found among the masses OR do thousands of posts mean that's the place to be?
