I understand what you are saying at the same time as a black man I have grown to understand that choices have made our lives hard. For example my biological father and my uncle grew up in the same house, had the same distractions and obstacles growing up in W Philly. My biological father spent most of his life in jail and on drugs, my uncle who is the older one graduated from Penn St and is secure financially, mentally, and emotionally. It’s all about choices people, let’s stop making excuses and start making better choices.

ALL YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT IS PRIVILEGE. TALK ABOUT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY AS A PERSON.

if u act ghetto then u are treated differently not cuz your skin same goes with white people if they act ghetto no one is going to treat them better either it’s about attitude not skin

As a white woman who grew up in Philly and experienced racism as the only white girl. Being beat up, called “cracker” “wigger” “honky”and having to fight my way through school to prove I could fit in. Being hit by police when walking with my black friends because they thought I was plotting with “them”. I would love to start a YouTube channel and reverse the role to help white girls who still struggle now, to find their way and explore how to educate all races on the effects of racism from both sides of the spectrum. I enjoy uncomfortable conversations! Because I firmly believe that these types of conversations MUST be had. I don’t want to be the only white woman invited to the BBQ, I think we should have that BBQ with everyone included, but an understanding has to be had. It’s an embarrassment to myself to see the “Karens” knowing what I had to go through to be me, Kelly.

This is a sentiment which was applicable up until the 1970s. It has not been applicable since and certainly not today.

I understand this but as a poor white kid growing up in an area where poverty was all there was and people from all races were represented hard to think you got a leg up from your black neighbors who you see everyday going through the same shit. I cannot deny some things I experienced were different through life but to call it privilege is where you lose me. It's a blanket term that doesn't fit the description of my reality.

I love this but I just wish we could get these without the music. I get that it's supposed to be inspirational mood-setting music, but sometimes the mix is distracting, and I just wanna hear his voice.

This is a great way to explain this. Jon Stewart had a similar way. Always best to start by validating a person's experience first, then guide them in the right direction rather than just start by telling them they are flat out wrong. Hopefully this message reaches more people.

In the midst of my privilege—I see you, I embrace you. I want nothing but the best for you. I want to encourage you and all my brothers/sisters of color to love themselves and others beyond their comfort zones, beyond the hate they receive, beyond what they think they can do make positive change in this world. Because removing stigma is going to take a radical, uniform mission of love. God help me do my part.

I grew up as a white kid on the streets now I have white privilege. This is offensive to my sensibilities to take away from my hardships and what I’ve fought for in my life. We all have hardships. There are those who are privileged regardless of race, same for hardships.

Y’all are missing the point of his video. Get over your feelings and take in what he is saying brothers and sisters. Love and peace to you all. I hope we come together as one human race and leave racism behind!

I'm not trying to say he is 100% wrong, although i do disagree with some of his views but i can't help but feel like it's a competition for this guy 🤔🤔 like his main goal is to proove that he won 1st place in a competition for who's life was the hardest... I could come up with a list of other factors to list that can make your life harder than others. the neighborhood you grow up in, income level, raised by single parent.... 🤔🤔 What about 1st generation American immigrants who come to the US and can't even speak the language???? I'm friends with so many 1st gen Americans who i love and have so much respect for. One friend who nearly starved in China growing up... 🤔🤔🤔

Not tryna be provoke anyone with this comment... Just tryna understand. It doesn't seem like its good for your mental health to dwell like this and to constantly compare. For example, i would never tell my kids to constantly think about and dwell on the fact that "rich" people who have more money than us have a much easier life than us... What do y'all think?🤔🤔 Peace ✌️ and respect

If you’re black and you think your skin color is holding you back, it’s not. That mindset is.

Negative! My life was hard because I was poor! Guess what I did? I worked my way out of poverty!

This is hard to understand because for me I don’t understand why the way someone looks is a reason to judge or hate them, hating someone because of what they are not who they are hurts me!!

Yes, exactly! It’s hard for some privileged people to acknowledge their privilege. Own it & thank God for it!
