How to Create a Default Text on Combobox or Textbox

Display the default text on the combobox or textbox when open form.

Hi Austin.. i admire your efforts and tutorials..just a quick note....default text on combo box seems to work only on form load event...i mean if we write a custom code on button click event like "me.cboSomeList ="Text Value" "....in double quotes...the vba editor gives error saying "The value you entered is not valid for this field"...Can you please check it on your end too...The code is valid only for numeircal values ..not for text....i guess its a bug..

I get a problem, sir. My problem is "The value you entered isn't valid for this field." I understand why this could happen. It happened because I have an integer field, but I filled the field with string value. May you tell me how to change data type of the field?
