Thin Lizzy - Waiting For an Alibi - Do Anything You Want to, performed on German TV show "Szene" Saturday September 1st 1979. I have this on TDK E-HG tape at SP, mono audio, tape 456 Received from a friend in Germany June 1989. This is the best version I have ever seen and I have watched many versions on YouTube, so enjoy.

Phil Lynott had such an impact. Midge Ure looks to be loving being part of the band!🎸

Amazing how close to their studio sound this is, and how Midge managed Gary Moose’s parts note perfect

Thx for remembereing...looks like real fun after almost 50 years...I was 14, living in a small village in germany, looking "Szene" every Saturday. The show was one of my highlights. At this time I parallel listened to Systems Of Romance from Ultravox and many other brit bands....I remember I was very surprised, seeing him Midge here in the show. From this point I started more on listening Thin Lizzy.

Fair to play to Midge for stepping in looking like a red shirt from Star Trek

Two actual legends who I know were great mates, Phil and Midge. The latter turned 70 last year, he's still rocking and I'll bet he still misses Phil. Superb vid. 👍

Midge said that he was the worst guitarist Thin Lizzy ever had :) But you don't get to be invited to play with Lizzy by Phil if you're not up to the standard. Period. And Midge is one of the most influential musician ever.

Nice to see Midge involved in playing some music that isn't strictly for the girlies.

I didn’t realize Midge Ure played the guitar so well.

Best back up singer they ever had. As a guitarist, out of his league….

Unpopular opinion: I like the live version of this song, with Mark Nauseef, better because he plays a faster beat during the chorus... 🙂

Obviously Phil is the cornerstone of any Lizzy performance, and Brian Downey rocks on drums. But what a class act Scott is. The team of Scott and Brian Robertson on twin guitar duties will always be my favourite combination though. No disrespect to Gary Moore or Eric Bell either. IMO, John Sykes was never really a good fit for the band.
