This is the worst news possible. I am spitting feathers with Labour. What on earth are they doing? Possibly the worst ever start from a political party. Lease reform is a huge subject and if they do delay this, they’ll be turning a good chunk of the electorate away.

I’m a tenant have been for years.Most recently my LL gave me a Section 21 but thanks to my Tenant Officer it’s been found to be invalid as my deposit was never registered when first moved in ! So I’ve got hopefully a month or two to find a place to move too but rent has sky rocketed !

I gave up a couple of weeks ago and served notice on my freeholder about a week ago. They want £27k and I have offered £10k under the current marriage value system. I am about 18 months from the end of my mortgage and need to get it sorted so cannot wait any longer for Labour.

Main issue with Leasehold remains Service Charges .Trading Standards should be extended to be an escalation point for these .
