General Motors was playing off the F-body platform when designing the third-generation Chevrolet Camaro which was also used on the "20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition" for 1987 and "25th Anniversary Heritage Edition" for 1992. The biggest update that came with this generation was the first use of fuel injection, the 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmissions and a hatchback body which gave it a very aerodynamic design. This generation also received a Z28 model which brought a few other great features such as the lightweight fiberglass SMC hood with functional hood air induction flaps, had a bit of a different nose and a three-piece spoiler.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this hard to find example of the 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z/28 Convertible for your consideration. This is a very rare find and anyone who knows about the Camaros third generation knows that the convertible was not even a true production car until 1987, however, the 1986 offered around 200 convertible examples primarily sold to GM executives of which this is labeled as #54! With a great deal of collectability to it, this is sure to catch the Camaro die-hards eye! The condition is fair considering its age but a few mechanical items to be fixed would really set this one apart from the rest. With a functional black vinyl top which is new to the car, a wonderful blue exterior and a fresh windshield, this is ready to be enjoyed as is! The A/C is currently disconnected but the original hoses are included in the sale as well as the original air box and emission pieces if you would like to bring it back to factory specifications. A real find considering the limited production and overall style of which this still holds on to! Call or email us today for more information.
