Half a million people have signed a petition to have former prime minister Tony Blair’s knighthood “rescinded”.

Sir Tony is appointed by the Queen a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior British Order of Chivalry.

The petition, set up three days ago, which aims to strip the former Labour leader of his appointment, reached 500,000 signatures on Monday.

But Lord David Blunkett, former Home Secretary, says Tony Blair "deserves" his knighthood.

"Tony Blair would deserve an acknowledgment for the Good Friday agreement alone."

Did the 179 British soldiers who died in his illegal war get knighted?

We can argue about Iraq? Tony Blair wrote to George W Bush eight months before the Iraq invasion to offer his unqualified backing for war well before UN weapons inspectors had completed their work, saying: “I will be with you, whatever.”

What's the point asking Starmer and Blair's cronies if he deserves it.Hardly rocket science.
