That computer had the best character arc out of everyone in that movie. I loved watching it back when I was a kid.

I know they probably seem very "cheesy" for younger generations but the movies in the 80s had such magic, it was a time full of wonder for a kid

I was 12 and this movie convinced me to become a software engineer. Best decision in my life.

My passion for Cello started with this film, today my son plays this instrument and I think it's wonderful.

My Dad showed me this movie in 1997 when I was 5. I had never used a computer so this was all new to me and it was basically Magic. I was immediately hooked and fell in love with computers.

I want to go back to 1984. What a great time to be alive.

It's a shame that the film flopped so badly at the box office. It's a great film. And Virginia Madsen was really a dream.

I saw "Electric Dreams" when it was in the theaters originally - it combined my two favorite loves - computers and music. I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and was so happy to find it on VHS back in the late 90's. Unfortunately, due to a fire I lost it.. and mourned the loss since they never released it on DVD in the US. Thankfully, I found a UK version which I was able to digitize into my NAS and eliminate the regional codes along with the PAL vs. NTSC conversions!

This has always been one of my favorites and helped shaped my life - after this, I went to London School of Music for my first degree, and then (through the US Navy) completed my degree in computer science and electrical engineering. This movie was ahead of it's time, predicting digital music, the internet, smart homes, etc. I wish more people knew about it. Still one of my very favorites (especially since I just finished watching it tonight, almost 35 years after it came out)!

As someone from Gen Z, this movie is PERFECT and made me obbsessed with the thought of sentient electronics. This movie needs SO much more recognition with how absolutely amazing it is. This scene has got to be my favorite

I was ‘forced’ to watch this film in a computer science class. Best teacher ever.

Giorgio Moroder's midas touch and improvisation on this BACH classic is truly beautiful!

I have had the same 2 ring tones on my phones for the last 12 years, this and the keyboard rift form the last train to transcentral by the KLF. I absolutely love this movie and this tune. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

Moles aka Lenny von Dohlen (1958-2022) sadly passed away at 63. This was an awesome and one of my favorite films from the 80s, saw it when I was a kid back in 84ish.

Came across this clip while browsing YouTube. I had no idea this movie even existed. But I watched it and just loved it. Great soundtrack and Virginia Madsen is just so smoking hot. Like I was just glued to her every time she was onscreen. Awesome flick!
