I like the way he said "my Marines" when describing those under his command.

Most recently, Adam Driver served in the Marines as Lance Corporal before becoming an actor.

Rob Riggle actually served with my father (Colonel Tom Bright) and actually was able to get my father on Larry King to give updates on the Iraq war after 9/11.

I love how you can look at someone and tell that they were an officer.

"Oh, I served!"
"You were an officer, weren't you?"
"How can you tell?"
"My enlisted senses were tingling, telling me not to hit you."

The singer Shaggy (remember the song "It wasn't me") was a Marine too. Imagine him doing the cadence during a march.

Rob served in Afghanistan before he became a Stand-up Comic. Then the real bombing began. - Jimmy Carr

I was in the Marine Corps for three years back in the '80s. Lots of bravado and comedy all around. Good times.

Designated Driver is one of the funniest skits I've ever seen. Made me a fan of Rob Riggle, and that was before I knew he was a Marine.

Comedian Johnathan Winters quit high school at 17 and joined the Marines and fought in the Pacific during WW 2.

Bea Arthur was also a Marine. During WW2 she was a Sgt in the USMC Women's Auxiliary.
And Dr. Ruth Westheimer was an Israeli scout-sniper in 1948-49.

Fro me, it's really a stretch to imagine Rob as a Lt. Colonel in the Marines! I worked for a number of years with a Lt.Colonel retired from the Army and he was the toughest man I ever knew. he was extremely intelligent, had no fear and was a great ally in any kind of circumstance and not the guy you wanted to get on the wrong side of!

One of the greatest comedians of all times, Johnathan Winters was a Marine. . .

Tyrone Power was a USMC aviator during World War II. He refused the movie studio's offer to get him an officer's commission and a cushy job in public relations or the USO. Instead, Power went to basic training as a private; then to OCS; pilot training and serving in the Pacific.
