The possibility of human sized spiders means that there could be hawk wasps, which would be worse. You would be paralyzed by their sting and then you would play host to their brood who use your body as an incubator, and a snack.

... I feel like gun control arguments would be VERY different.

Horror aside, spiders would probley farmed like like sheep for their spider webs. We already do it, so larger spiders able to produce much more web would be a fantastic resource. Also spider meat would probably be more of a thing, just like we eat lobsters or crabs.

We would probably wipe all spider of the planet expect those we are farming, and don't necessary have to worry about them going extinct since they lay ton of eggs. We would also try to breed them to be smaller which may work let's say about half the size of an adult human.

Those spider would probably be sold to the public. Whether as a pet, entertainment, or meal. Gun control is far less, bug pesticide is farm more desirable, animal control is a more dangerous profession.

Society would be so different especially if these things existed as the same time as our species was evolving to. So ancient tales of cavemen hunting spiders painted in cave walls.

If spiders where that big I would feel pretty bad for them as they would suffocate immediately due to the fact that there is not enough oxygen in the air for them to sustain that size with how they breathe. The largest land dwelling arthropod I think is a coconut crab at the size of a small dog and they are pushing the upper limit. But it would be terrible if spiders were that size and moving around

I’m not really afraid of spiders if I’m being honest, but if this was reality it would literally be the most horrific experience. I’ve seen how fast they are when they strike and move. Just imagine… a 230lbs spider crawling full speed at you... *chills*
