Derivative calculus in mathematics contains a lots of proofs. Out of those proofs of derivative this is one. We are finding the derivative of function x to the power n by the first principle method of derivative. Derivative in Calculus math has a lot of formula and method to prove them. but most of the time we use first principle method .
I hope you understand how to find the derivative of such algebraic functions.

I'm not quite convinced yet. You took the limit as h approached zero, however we were treating the entire term x+h as the x in the limit example. If we are not taking the limit as x+h goes to zero, I'm not sure how this works.

The limit you say is given by m/na^(m-n) is trivially wrong. as x tends to 0 you just end up with a^m/a^n. The limit is a^(m-n). In addition to that, even if it was correct you do not apply it correctly as x+h tends to x as h tends to 0, not to 0.

I think you did not prove the standard result. The standard result you have stated is just the other form of the limit you want to prove. So you use the formula itself to prove itself. Can I have the proof of the standard result of limit you have stated????
