I came across this movie by absolute random. That one moment of randomness turned into one of my all time favourite movies of all time. It's definitely up there as one of the best mafia movies of all time. Along with movies such as Goodfellas, Casino, Gotti, The Irishman, Scarface and The Godfather.

I think pistone has even has said this, but he doesn't take that half million contract on his life seriously. Say someone did kill him, who is the killer going to collect from? There's no way a boss would pay that to an alleged hitman because it would bring so much heat on them and how could they be sure pistone was really killed and the whole thing wasn't a setup, plus the fact they just wouldn't want to part with a half million for something that's already been done. The one legitimate fear he has is some random wannabe killing him just to make a name for himself. Mob bosses know the amount of heat killing an actual fbi agent would bring.
