Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. returns for its eleventh season on PBS. Over the course of ten new episodes, Gates and his team use genealogical detective work and cutting-edge DNA analysis to trace the family trees of twenty compelling guests, telling stories that illuminate America’s fundamental diversity.

The guest roster for this season includes actors Kristen Bell, Laurence Fishburne, Debra Messing, Michael Imperioli, Melanie Lynskey, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lea Salonga, Amanda Seyfried, Dax Shepard, and Sharon Stone; celebrity chefs José Andrés and Sean Sherman; novelist Amy Tan; poet Rita Dove; historian Lonnie Bunch; talk show host Joy Behar; musician Rubén Blades; journalist Natalie Morales; and model Chrissy Teigen.

I love this program. Being adopted 7 decades ago and never knowing any biological relatives other than my son and grandkids, I find this so intriguing. The way that Dr. Gates presents the information is perfect. I’m really looking forward to this season.

My favorite show on wbghDr Gates has a gift of showing whatever our background we are really just one family.i have Irish routes but now have interracial great nieces and nephews.Putting race history behind us I think we are moving in the right direction Dr Gates is teaching us the right way to go .I love his videos and share them with my nieces and nephews.he knows his history and has taught me a lot.henis.my hero

Did you know there are pockets of African American people in some rural counties that are 95% or more African and 2 have only 1% European? I know of at least 3 from 2 different communities not geographically connected
