Forest Watcher App Helps Rangers Detect Illegal Logging

The new Forest Watcher app, now available for Android and iOS devices, places Global Forest Watch tools in the hands of users with limited internet connection. The app was developed and piloted with several partners including The Jane Goodall Institute, who recognized the potential for this versatile tool to help monitor chimpanzee habitat health at the local and regional scale. Forest Watcher has already helped one ranger detect an illegal logging operation with evidence that helped indict poachers in court.
