HUGE Baylan Skoll Ahsoka Season 2 Announcement

I can't believe I'm writing this, but BAYLAN SKOLL HAS BEEN RECAST, and is coming to Ahsoka Season 2 by Dave Filoni next year!

They really struck gold with ray stevenson in the role, i feel for the actor who takes on the role. I don’t doubt who ever it is will give it there best.

liev Schreiber Is my pick as well, he is similar in stature and presence when performing his roles and would be sure to honor Ray's portrayal of Baylan with respect to the vision he had for the character.

You’re damned if you do damned if you don’t. When Rouge One came out I saw Many articles complaining that they had a CGI taken and Leia. Some of those articles said the CGI Tarkin and Leia looked awful, I did not think that at all. I was amazed to see Peter and Carrie on screen again as they were back in ‘77.

Now if people are upset that they won’t CGI the actor who passed, it’s like you can’t win.

With all this said I didn’t hear any complaints about the Mark Hamil CGI/de-aged I. Mandalorian. Maybe it’s cuz Hamil was still alive and worked on it himself. Oddly enough, I did feel the CGI on Hamil wasn’t great-but still it was very passable for me and I loved seeing that character again just as I loved seeing Tarkin and Leia in Rogue One

Ray did amazing, shame he didn't see it but i think he wouldn't have minded if his character was recast. Because im sure he wants his character to live on. Just like Christopher Lee for Dooku if they ever decide to bring Dooku into live action again.

I would nominate Sean Bean to portray Baylan. I don’t think that deep fake would work in Season 2

It seems like Dave is trying to bring as much of legends into canon that he physically can and I can’t wait!!

The Darth Vader dialogue in Kenobi sounded like it came from a soundboard on the internet and Luke looked really bad in The Mandalorian, so I'm very happy to hear that they are recasting Baylan instead of creating some dodgy CGI caricature of him.

RIP Ray Stevenson, i loved him in VIkings, i loved him in Thor I & II, and he was definatly one of the main reasons i watched Ahsoka, superb actor, great person, died way too soon.

I feel like there's enough stuffs to go around with for S2 that they don't have to rush the character back into the spotlight just yet. There's the big war with Thrawn, there's Ezra, and of course Ashoka in her new planet. And then Shin Hati.
Let Baylan be for now. Afterall, S1 ended perfectly with him on a side quest of his own. They could maybe tease his return for S3 at the end of S2, with the camera showing only his back. By then people would have moved on better and might be even thrilled to see who replaced him.
