Brian vs Big Z is the greatest rivalry in Strongman. Two of the best going up against each other year after year. In any other era, either man would have won 5 or 6 WSM titles, but they took wins off each other.

I've been watching Strongman since the 1st one. There been periods where besides the top 3 guys, no one had a chance to win it. In the first few years I bet the average guy was 280 lbs, maybe lighter. Big Don Rheinholdt and at probably 340 was an exception. Kaz as big and dominating as he he was, was 310 to 320? After that the game changed and the Scandinavians took over, but so did the contest. You had to lighter and fit cardio wise or you lost. The weights werent as heavy but the emphasis was on speed. As soon as the Eastern Europeans came in, the Scandinavians were done. They were bigger, faster and stronger. Mariuz was the perfect monster with perfect timing and won everything. But, at 310? he couldnt compete against the new monsters. Frankly, Big Z and Shaw are probably the best of the best. Competing against each other and a huge cast of monsters that were probably the best of all time.

We will never see another rivalry in the sport like Brian and big Z ever again. I feel like every year someone else is going to win WSM these days

Brian Shaw is awe inspiring. Those feats of strength is mind boggling. I have been watching Brian Shaw and Eddie Hall videos lately and I love the friendship and comradery between these two behemoths. I didn't think Eddie was that tall but he's 6'3" and over 350 lbs! Brian is 6'8" and 430 lbs! I'm 5'10" and 210 lbs, 49 years old and pretty strong for my age and weight but these dudes are on a whole different level. Aside from the size and strength aspect, they seem to be really good guys. Respect.

Brian Shaw back in 2008 looked lean, it was in 2011 that he became a mass monster.
