P.s. Good luck with your new space! I tried to financially manage a creative lifestyle in the city like that, but couldn’t hack it longterm — ended up moving to the country, where I bought a 1000 sq ft. house on an acre, completely paid for with same amount it’d cost to rent a space like that for 4 years. Spent half my life renting, so it’s nice to finally be able to divert those funds to gear and peace of mind now.

I love seeing people talk about there old Casios. I have a nice collection of Casio and Yamaha’s. They just all fell into my lap pre-vintage craze. I mean I was finding SK-1s and 5s in garage sales and thrift stores for 5 or 10 bucks. Glad I snatched them up when I did. Can’t wait to get a larger studio space so I can take them out of storage and use them again. Especially with my new collection of FX pedals which I didn’t have back in the day.

Any space is better than no space, but I would rather make stuff at night in headphones and rent rock rehearsal studio ( its like 5$ per hour here) where you can play at ear-bleeding levels. Checking out your music that way is closest you could probably get to club system. And when its time to gig you'll be ready.

Another popular choice is garage / basement, or unused factory floor/office ( a lot of these in depressed country i'm afraid ). Best thing is to befriend with a local musician's community. They can hook you up with cheap and quality rehearsal spaces or even do one themselves. Usually 3 bands /musicians occupy some practice room, while having schedule. Most are yesterday's music students

Sorry if you covered this already but just in case: I used to teach production for a small outfit here in Seattle and we had studio space (shared) up in one of those business/creative room complexes for awhile. The folks paying the lease worked with the managers of the building to come up with 'loud hours' that we could turn things up. We didn't do any loud stuff during normal business hours or on specific weekend days, but most Sundays were free all day and anything after like 9 PM was good. Maybe you can see if a similar thing can be done there? Anywho.. long time lurker and love your music & vids. Cheers!
