Overpowering A Barbie RC Car - Dad's Guide

With the NEW Barbie Movie Coming out soon. You gotta do this for your kids :)
I took this Toy Barbie RC Car and made it way better! All the stuff I used is below. It's not perfect, but so much better than stock, and much easier to control! Upgrading Kids Toy Cars is really good fun, you can do this to most Toy RC Cars, you just need to work out the best way to do it.

I can't find the 3s so you'd need to measure the battery tray and find one that suits.

Oh the memories my daughter had a huge Barbie Mini Cooper S from toys R us. Had the same conversation but it ended up a full 4x4 drift Mini! Was a proper beast!

It’s gratifying being able to take a toy RC and giving it a dose of hobby grade. I like to do that too as some of the toy RC have decent bodies although often they are not 1/10 scale. I find Barbie has the best bodies closest to 1/10 so I’ve made a habit to collect Barbie cars and use the shells for Future RC projects. The bonus is you can put an action figure for a little more scale look. Haven’t done this in a while but the nicest one was a white Ferrari 308 that I put on a custom onroad chassis I made from soldering square brass tubes together and made it so the wheelbase could change via sliding the brass tubes. That was before I had hobby grade RC. Now you can stretch the chassis.

That was bad ass. I’ve been thinking about taking on a similar project with one of my toy RC cars, but have been nervous about it. I don’t wanna mess anything up, and I don’t see too many videos on how to do it. This video was an awesome reminder that anything is possible

Cool dad project!
The resistor on the motor is probably there for back EMF dissipation (so no current goes back from the motor to the ESC when its free-spinning). Probably much higher resistance than the internal resistance of the motor, why it doesn't do much difference to remove it✌
