The Cult is such an underrated band! They have a lot of great songs. Some of my other favorites are Fire Woman, Sweet Soul Sister, Edie, and Rain.

"She Sells Sanctuary" was The Cult's breakthrough hit back in 1985. It got plenty of airplay on the alt-rock radio stations of the era. It sounds great blasting from the stereo in a car traveling down the freeways of Southern California at speed and greater! The Cult geared down on a driving hard rock sound for their next few albums, releasing several bangers -- "Love Removal Machine", "Wild Flower", "Fire Woman", "Rain" -- among many, in the process. They rock like AC/DC at times. Good stuff!

You got it! I believe the song is exactly as you mentioned. Nice to see you enjoyed this song, it's one of the most classic rock songs ever written in my opinion, it has great vocals, great guitar, drums and bass and a driving rhythm that keep you connected through the whole song, makes you want to move and dance and just let it all out. This song was meant to play super load to rock the neighborhood!
