HTVRONT were very kind to gift me this Heat Press for me to review.

Conventions are back! And that means that the badge ribbon game is afoot! This is not a big thing in Australia so I am excited to get involved with it in the USA when I attend both Holiday Matsuri and Anime Los Angeles.

Some details from the video:

What you’ll need:
Approximately 2 inch wide ribbon, preferably light in colour.
Ruler
Pinking sheers
Normal scissors
Iron-On Transfer paper. (Plus a printer and computer.)
No sew or iron hemming tape
A heat press/ iron.
And an ironing board

Measurements:
Cut ribbons to be 4 inches in length (a little over 10cm)
Designs should be about 1.25" x 3.5" (3cm x 9cm)
Cut hemming tape to be about 3.5" (9cm)

Utter genius! I've been looking into getting some made but this is way cheaper and no minimum order :P

Thanks. I didn't even know that heat press's existed. Well done. Enjoy the Cons!

I was looking for a video like this a few months ago! I usually order mine online but have thought it would be cool to try making my own. I only have gone to one convention here in Minnesota that does the ribbons, but I also don't go to a ton. I usually match them up with my costume.

Thank you! My kids all want personalized ribbons that they can hand out but so many companies have a minimum order of 100 each, and I just don't need that many! Now I can just make them with my kids!

Thank you so much! I want to hand out badge ribbons at my next con, but I needed them to be sequentially numbered, so I can't just order them from a place. This is going to be awesome!

I am from europe and the only time I have ever encountered badge ribbons was at a one-time-off con in the UK years ago. Most cons I go to don't have badges, they just have wristbands. But I'm planning to go to a con that does badges soon and I am definitely going to do this. Thanks for the tutorial.

I've been to several cons here in America and I've never seen anyone trade badge ribbons. 😆 But I like the idea behind it! 😊

I just watched a cosplay vlog from another channel and got curious about badge culture in cons. I've been into a lot of con however we don't have this kind of thing here in Philippines 🇵🇭... Just random stuff and coscards only but would love to set it a trend here... It looks easy to do and easy to carry 😊

What kind of transfer paper do you use? I can only find this weird new stuff where you dont mirror it and have to cut around the design to avoid the white background, which isnt happening for tiny text.

Ahh how fun! Badge ribbons aren't a thing at all US conventions, but they're HUGE at Anime Los Angeles. Hope to see you there!

Using the iron on tape...at the con did u need heat to adhere them or was it tacky enough it didn't need heat

So does the print just the words or also the background?

Does your heat transfer paper leave the white background or only the words.
