This is Part II in our series on Waypoints for the DJI Mavic 3 series of drones (not the Enterprise). Waypoints is a favorite feature of ours and was released to the Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Cine and Mavic 3 Classic in December of 2022.

In Part II, we cover Setting up a Waypoint Mission Off-Site. This method uses the maps to set each Waypoint and Point of Interest (POI). We then show how to edit the Waypoints and POIs. Here we also go into some detail on all of the settings that are available to set. Next we show the Global Settings for the Mission. Finally we demonstrate how to Save and Load the Waypoint Mission.

I have a Mini4 Pro which is set up the same way...I must have watched every other video showing how it is done, but none of them are any where as good as this series...everyone else jumps all over and back and forth without being clear in making a point or example...the speed, the clarity of your graphics and the way you briefly mention something and point out that you will be getting back to that subject for clarification makes this off site video the easiest to understand....thank you so much👍

Outstanding series of tutorials. I’m watching these to better understand the features of the Mavic 3 classic before upgrading to it. Your tutorials are just perfect…the the right level of detail, the right pace, the right everything. I’d love to see more videos by you even if they exist on other channels. Many thanks.

I’m really enjoying this series of video’s on setting up waypoints on the Mavic 3. I made a video on it the day waypoints were added/released, and I didn’t realize than how full featured it was. Thanks for sharing Jerry.

Now that DJI's waypoint feature is taking off the gloves for a duke-out with Litchi's formidable waypoint engine, DJI might as well offer their own desktop version of the free Litchi Mission Hub for creating waypoint missions on desktop computers, whereby the saved flight plans can then be automatically linked with the smart device used for flying the drone.

The pricey DJI Flight Hub2 is available for desktop computers as a provisionally free beta trial version until June 30th, 2023, yet the newly released second iteration of the DJI Fly waypoint feature still ties users to the RC controller's small screen. DJI would be well advised to allow users to explore the free DJI Fly waypoint feature's versatility on their desktops even if they are merely contemplating a drone purchase.

Jerry thank you for your very professional presentations. I am waiting for my Mavic 3 Classic to be shipped. After watching Way Points I and II I am even more excited about getting the drone and working with way points. Do you have a video on the best ways to deliver content to customers? I have my Part 107 but have only shot my videos for personal use. Again your videos are the most professional instructional videos. Thank you for your work.

Hi part 2 video. There sure a lot of variables to consider when setting waypoints. Myself would be leary of setting an off sight mission. But nice to know that option is there. I was just thinking if one did run a pre-programed waypoint mission. A pilot couldn't just launch the drone up a few feet and start waypoint program and causing the drone to rise at an angular accent to waypoint 1 and risk hitting a tree or something? Or would you need to launch the drone and rise to the same altitude as waypoint 1 before running the program? I know I would raise the drone up first. But was just considering the scenario. Looking forward to the next video's.

Hi Jerry ! For some reason when save a mission, the points of interest do not save with the way points. Is that normal or is there something I'm doing wrong ?

… when planning off-site mission the controller does not have to be connected to drone! It was a must in case of Waypoints 2.0.
Please, confirm.
Still, great tutorial.
Regards.
