My friend told me about this song around 1982 or 1983 when we were young teens in Coney Island, Brooklyn. He said there’s this dumb song where they keep repeating “I Said Captain, I Said What”. Today, I decided to search for this song and I’ve finally heard it after all these years. Ismael, I miss you and I hope you’re happy and in good health.

I was in my 20's working for a clothing store called the Factory in Downtown Los Angeles. We had clothes that were trendy at the time in the 80's. We had a Dj who would play KROQ and Disco back in the day. The Dj would always play this song while customers shopped because they always requested it.

Just a perfect track. I’m 24 and played this at a party with about 40 people whom mostly listen to rap and they started to feel the Captian! He said captain I said Wot!!

I bought this EP immediately, after I'd heard it first time in radio. I was a sparetime free jazz and bepop double bass player then, but this groove even to me seemed marvelous.

Its 2022 and still listening to this great 80ths Classic. Man the late 70ths and 80ths where the best. Drugs where better, Girls better, and all was a bit slower. Till 2000 changed it all.
