👉 Learn how to find the missing side of a triangle. A triangle is a polygon with three sides. Triangles are classified on the basis of the angles or on the basis of the sides. The classification of a triangle on the basis of the sides are: scalene, isosceles, and equilateral triangles.
A scalene triangle is a triangle with none of the sides equal. An isosceles triangle is a triangle with two of the sides equal while an equilateral triangle is a triangle with the three sides equal.
When given expressions representing the sides of a triangle with the type of the triangle also given, we can use the properties of the various types of triangles to evaluate the given expressions and hence find the measure of the sides of the triangle.
