ChatGPT isn't just a fun tool. In just a few days, the website has more than a million users. All of them having created a log-in. That's a bit of pressure for the Googles of the world. And it leads to a bigger question: Is AI closer to being able to do our jobs?

Thank you for mentioning the issues with factual correctness. At the moment ChatGPT should be considered on a par with the average Twitter or Facebook user: it generates text patterned on what it has previously “read”, and may sound “truthy”, but has a tendency to spew total crap.

The prompt that impressed me the most is for example when I asked why a particular TV series got cancelled or if a determinated plot line was ever resolved and it gave me the answer I was looking for, almost as if the program had watched the entirety of the show. I also use it to find a movie or game I couldn't remember the name of and even without many details it helped me find the right ones.

The questions asked to ChatGPT have barely scratched the surface of what it's capable of. It's not perfect yet, but it's already very useful.

I just tried the mammals egg question they talked about and it gave the actually correct answer with descriptions. They dont seem to understand how fast systems like this can improve. Sure it may be scary, but also extremely exciting.

The elephant thing is interesting! Google search says "The eggs produced by elephant birds are the largest of any known species, with a capacity of up to 2 gallons, even exceeding dinosaur eggs in size! ". But the species is extinct!
