Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell holds a news conference on Wednesday following the Federal Open Market Committee meeting.

In its final meeting of 2022, the Federal Reserve hiked rates by 50 basis points, or half a percentage point. The move was widely expected by economists and investors. The move brings the fed funds rate to a range of 4.25%-4.5%, the highest level in 15 years.

one question, if someone could help clarify 2% inflation rate target. for example if a house is priced at $100K in year 2020 (if some year is considered benchmarking year) and then price increased to $200K in year 2022 and then after that it increases at 2% and new price= 204K in year 2023, does that mean inflation target is achieved? or 2%inflation target is considered achieved when new price= approx106K in 2023? or if none of this then what is this new house price in year 2023 at which inflation target will be considered achieved?
