So, funny story: the first time I heard this song, I thought she sang “I’m so done with chasing the small _g’s”_ ..as in the “small gods” of this this world..
The little things we make bigger than God.
Those idols that we set up in our hearts.

And it stunned me. It felt like a weight fell from my chest into my stomach. I was alone in the office and thank God cause it was all I could do not to BAWL my eyes out. Not only had I thought it was a beautiful and brilliant line, but it was true that I _had_ been chasing the gods of this world, useless empty things that will burn away and do not save.

I was instantly convicted, repented to the Father and turned my life back over to Him that day.

I would later discover the correct lyrics, of course, lol, but isn’t it interesting how even the “wrong” words can be the exact right ones you need to hear when they come from Him? 🤔😌❤️

I love this song.. it’s a beautiful reminder (and I still sing _my_ version most of the time, lol:)
