Update: They fixed the Orbiter calibration issue I talked about in a firmware update.

I picked one of these up about a year ago to work in Logic Pro. Now I use it for everything. A bit pricy but it was worth it.

Over $1000 AUD, I think keyboard shortcuts will have to do for now, I like the modular aspect, I wonder if they could have kept the costs down by having a fixed board?

Nice video! I switched to DaVinci and got their speed editor with a studio license when they were included with resolve 17. I had no idea how much faster a tool like this would make an edit! If I came back to premie pro I'd want something very similar.

We used units like this is the early days of non-linear editing and some guys used tracker balls instead of a mouse. I loved the one I had way back when because I came from a linear, tape edit background and it felt better to me than using a mouse for everything. I might try this way of editing again. Thanks for the review. Keep us up to date as you use it more.

This is what I wanted to know more, because I'm curious about this product since it's loanched. Your review is very helpful so that I'm sure I should buy this one. Thank you so much.

I'm a big fan of your channel Javier but I don't think this product is going to make it. Riddled with confusion. I'm very interested but all these panels and it looks so cheapest. I mean the Davinci Resolve panel is easily understood in 2 minutes flat. All these panels sold separately. I went to the web site. WOW what a sea of confusion. I can't even figure out how much it would cost me to get the set up you displayed. So I'm calling it now. No good. Poor marketing and to many unanswered questions. That's all we need to suffer just to get the basic idea of what is what. I guess I'll wait and see but my guess is this will not be a big seller as it is. When I product comes out like this that is for real and understood. I'll buy it in a heart beat. Thanks brother, you are the absolute best teacher.

This is great. Thanks for the vid. When I was FIRST (about 20 years ago) we always had those toggle wheels on some of the linear editing systems. But then when everything started going digital the wheels started to disappear. I always missed them. I might look into this product for the wheel alone.

I love it but I wonder if they ever plan to make this a wireless piece of gear. Like a mongram creative console 3. Cause I know this is their 2nd revision of this. Its really a cool piece of gear that is limited cause they dont have all the permissions to the apps they are targetting (Davinci, Adobe, etc). I haven't used mine in such a long time but Ive told myself to pull it out again and give it a chance. When originally using it I just found myself being use to my original shortcuts on a keyboard or justme personally finding it annoying to have it above my keyboard. I prefer it below my keyboard bottom right but then the wire is sort of annoying.

Touchportal + the shuttlepro v2 + the excalibur plugin are my "weapons" of choice

Its cool but I dont think it would be good for “normal” editing being just moving clips around to tell a story. I think it’ll work best for tasks where you need to change values of things such as coloring and after effects since it has the wheels what make things easier.
For premiere keyboard shortcuts are just better 90% of the time.

has that sticking wheel issue been resolved yet?

That looks amazing, but being monetized with around $10 a month, it's hard to justify the spending :D

An exciting product. Immediately I see three problems for an average user like myself. The price is too high to justify its potential benefits. The modular design is a waste of money because I don't see much use for it, nor will it directly impact the efficiency of my workflow. And the learning curve of this product may be challenging, you can spend similar amount of effort to master the mouse and keyboard which would be more practical. But it's a great idea to begin with.
