Request your views on:

Buying an IPO for Listing gains
- taking in to account c the little probability of getting it in the first place
- as per market hype
- general perceptions (which could also be manipulated by stake holder of OFS)

V/S

Buying for Long term holding
- considering intial IPO price v/s price discovery which could go high/low both
- being invested for long term gains with confidence in business, which could be executed at any stage (without much consideration to lottery based IPO allotment)

Tata Tech IPO was at @500 and it opened at 1200, so not a loss even after hype.
Jio financial was not an ipo, it was a demerger.
