The Geological Wonder of Hydrothermal Vents

preview_player
Показать описание
Hydrothermal vents are openings in the seafloor that release hot, mineral-rich water due to volcanic activity. Found along mid-ocean ridges, these vents support unique ecosystems. Organisms near vents adapt to extreme conditions, relying on chemosynthesis for energy. Studying hydrothermal vents helps scientists understand Earth's geology, chemistry, and the possibility of life in extreme environments.

Polymetallic sulphides, polymetall9c nodules formation happen here along and near mid-oceanic ridges. Those smoke-like release matereals are called black smokers and white smokers. Organisms living here use chemosynthesis to produce energy and converts into organic materials using materials released from hydrothermal vents. Amazing?
