Special teams disaster as Panarin and Trocheck shell Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Rangers again on Thursday, as the same problems from Monday proved costly yet again. Rangers converted three times on their power play, and Detroit only converted one of theirs in garbage time. In the defensive zone they continued to struggle gaining posession and breaking out, leading to many chances again — and Artemi Panarin and Vinny Trocheck made Detroit pay. Mo Seider had a good game though, so thats something I guess. #LGRW

Torn between whether Lalonde is part of the problem or not. On one hand, he's not being given great players in certain areas (ex. Defence and low-middle tier goaltending), BUT he is choosing to play players who aren't doing great (Ex. Gustafsson vs Johansson debate). Tough. Hoping that we get out of this rough October schedule with an acceptable W/L ratio.

It’s kind of crazy how I worried about how they looked during preseason but everyone said not to worry about it. Now it looks like they are still playing preseason. If something doesn’t change soon this could be a long season.

Need a new HC inclusive of a complete overhaul to our current coaching staff to hopefully get these guys playing competitive and competent hockey. In addition to that, need to let some of the kids come up and play to exert some youthful hunger and energy to the team. Yzerman needs to take full control of this situation right now as Lalonde and his staff clearly aren’t the answer at coaching and this roster makes little to no sense as constructed.

The best players should play, period! Kasper showed in the preseason that he his ready to challenge for a top six spot, a slam dunk at a minimum in top 9... Him showing he was the top forward in the preseason and still dont get a spot is just telling how much contracts is valued over actual quality on the ice. Tarasenko has this far showed nothing at all that says he should def be in the top six, maybe a bit to satisfied after getting his 2nd cup... Having a pure "shut down line" when you cant produce is pretty useless, to much hangs on the 1st line this year for goals. Compher is likely best used as a 3rd line center and Copp a 4th line C, but they arnt played to those smaller roles but keeps getting put out there... They have a lot oftast stuff to figuere out with little time to do it... Special trams, goalies, top 9, team defense and so on...

I’m done giving a shit about this team for now. They could probably lose in the third round of the Kelly Cup playoffs. Panarin has scored more goals on the wings this year than the wings have scored total as a team all season

EDIT: wow I did not see the other comments about the wings having no system before I made my comment. I’m 2 years new to hockey and yet I was able to tell they had no system, which has been validated by others before me. Not to be self-deprecating but that’s how you know it’s bad, when it’s obvious to newbs like me.
