What no one is talking about is, either you hear a "MALE voice saying Laurel" or a "FEMALE voice saying Yanny". I only realized after asking my wife like three times how come she couldn't hear "Laurel", and finally I said "the man was speaking so clearly" and she was like, "What man?! That was definitely a woman saying Yanny!"
