Cool demo of PocketSphinx; I found it while trawling around for demo videos before experimenting with it for a project. Consider using a Python class and moving your one-time-only setup code into the _init_() routine of the class. Or at least consider renaming that variable to something sane like 'initial_setup_complete = False'.

Hi, I sadly haven't got any programming experience, but I would like to make a similar application. I want it to be able to detect a specific sound thats always the same for instance in an videogame some soundeffect, and when detecting it make a music player in the background start a song. To me it doesn't sound that difficult but I'm just guessing.

This seems to fill the same niche as Rhasspy. I haven't messed around with pocketSphinx yet, but I wonder what text to speech engine it's using. Rhasspy has its fair share of bloat, so a minimal implementation it alternative could go a long way. Thanks for the video, definitely earned my subscription.
