We can scarcely imagine the devastation such an eruption would cause. There must have been so much unrecorded loss of life and damage, given the period of the explosion. Another excellent video.

Krakatau is still erupting at the moment, i think. She's been at it since the turn of the century. I think one videographer said it best when her daughter Anak Krakatau has grown up to be a violent adolescent.

And i am also here looking for that strange youtube commenter preaching end times talking about a "megha" tsunami and having limited time left. That one always brightens my day.

I remember when Quebec caught fire last year or this year and the sunsets made the wheezing worth it

What about the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai eruption? I heard that one on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand, it was quite loud, even here.

Not quite as loud, but we heard the Tonga eruption in 2022 here in Malaysia,

you should investigate the Tonga explosion sound range. we had a huge thunder noise mid to late morning on a 35 degree day here in Adelaide.... on the morning of the eruption.

While watching your video I had a thought pop into my head. More like a very good question, lmao. What if this eruption helped to play a even small part in the whole dust bowl in USA Midwest? Had to share!! Love your videos and please keep it up!! ❤❤

And the study of the new island was also the first time a new island, devoid of any life was colonised from scratch.

@ozgeographics what’s the 4000km ‘straight line’ ridge in the Indian Ocean just west of Cayman Islands? It’s 4 degrees off North/South alignment. Can’t find info on it online. What’s it called? How did it form?

So if such an event happened now, what could people in the surrounding area do in advance in order to protect their ears?

I sailed past here about a week ago. Watched it pass in the distance

Is this still the loudest sound? Wasn't the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai eruption heard (recorded) in Anchorage, Alaska? Im pretty sure that's further away than any annotated (recorded) for Krakatoa. Can anyone inform me which one was louder?
