Please help us celebrate “National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week” April 9-15, 2017.

We appreciate our 911 Emergency Dispatchers and Emergency Call Takers for their hard work and dedication to serving the public.

The long hours and countless sacrifices by our Dispatchers and Call Takers make them the Best of the Best.

They are “the voice” on the phone that helps when you are in need; they are the invisible first responder, the true first responder.

And for this…. WE THANK YOU!! #CPD -Toni Smith, Communications

*Thank you Nathan Coffield, 911 Dispatcher/Training Instructor for this training video that educates all.

Excellent in every way.  Well done, and we need to see more of what goes down right.

While this information is helpful for people what I have actually done myself when I reported a violent felon with an active warrant I followed him in my car while on the phone with the dispatcher. The officer that arrived was going to have to call for backup because the felon was 6'1" 230# and was resisting arrest. I told the dispatcher to let the officer know that he had backup onsite and gave them the license plate number for my car, my physical description and my name and address. The officer looked up as I approached and the Felon turned and looked over his shoulder at me approaching with my 9mm pointed right at him and he immediately stopped resisting placed his hands behind his back and got into the back of the patrol car. I'm not Wonder Woman but I'll be damned if I'm going to sit back and watch someone in distress and not help.
