The thing about growing up in such a conservative family is that it makes you want to do the complete opposite of what your parents raised you to be, cause they look at the media and they are so restricted from certain things it just influences them even more to do bad stuff

it’s so draining to see people bash “conservative” upbringings . I grew up with a very overprotective mother and father . they were over protective because they saw the world that we live in today, with drugs, alcohol, people trying to take advantage of others etc. I used to resent them for it but as i got older and started to experiment and experience life, I thank God for my upbringing . Yes maybe they were a bit to strict sometimes but they tried their best just like all parents . I see a lot where ppl who come from conservative households go out into the “real world” have their fun for a bit and then begin to feel that void, and emptiness again, then they proceed to blame that feeling on the conditioning and the programming they experience from being raised when the truth is many of these pleasures that ppl chase only offer temporary pleasure but have no substance . they expect for the world to be filled with so much fun when in reality all of these things simply become repetitive and it’s the core values that are taught that allow you to see the world for what it is . I think we should focus on teaching kids how to have self discipline, consistency and to love themselves and learn how to listen to their body/soul to know when something is disturbing their peace and bring toxicity into their life .
