BOOKTUBE NEWBIE TAG (2.0) | TravisReadsBooks

I do a new version of the famous booktube newbie tag, created by Michael S Deutsch. I've been on booktube for nearly 2 months now, so I think I can do a better job of it than I did with my original, cringe-worthy newbie tag.

Also, I'm aware that I spelled "Barrie" wrong, but what's done is done. We're all going to have to live with it now.

You did a great job answering these questions! I agree with so many of them. One of the ones that stood out was what you want to see more of on BookTube. I like seeing non book related videos too! I like to get to know the person outside of their reading preferences. I'm hoping to do more of those soon 😊

I also love when people come across as really authentic and themselves. Like the ones putting on a performance can be quite entertaining, but they're not the people I connect with and get to know. I think horror has been a really common answer for what you'd like to see more of on booktube. There might be more horror fans out there than you'd think haha~

You guys in USA have some awesome TAGs, here in Brazil we don't see this kinda a lot, just other types. Love your videos, Travis. I would *love* to see more horror. I just love horror movies and I'd really like some book recommendations.

You joked about books having ratings (melodrama level, insta-love, etc), and it made me think of fanfiction. I mean, if you read it a lot, you notice there are up front tags like "domestic fluff" or "angst with happy ending". So if you want something sappy, it's easy to get exactly that. I do wonder how that'd affect normal published fiction, if tags and ratings were a thing.

Hooray for the 2 month anniversary and I don't mind YA books, because if I don't like a video, I skip it. I can relate to the views debate and hey, all part of the game I guess lol. Some videos I think are great and get 6 views... and that's still super valid :) and hashtag science! Lol and here's to backward facing monkeys :) cheers
