MGB Solid State Voltage Stabilizer Test

Installed on a 1970 MGB. After installation the fuel and temp gauges no longer show any reading. I used a test light to see if there was current in and out of the VS, but it looks like there is voltage in (B) but not out (I).

SOLUTION
I checked the voltage with a light on the instrument side of the stabilizer using both a light and a v. meter and got no output. Then i connected the LG/G and G wires together to see if there was a response in the fuel gauge and got a positive outcome, the gauge moved towards full and stopped a 3/4. That's the approximate level in the tank. This pointed to the SS stabilizer's instrument side not getting the current for output. I did a minor operation on the stabilizer by cutting the chips on the board and soldered a new chip to the B and I sides of the stabilizer. I bend the chip's legs such that when placed back in the case, the metal part of the chip touched the inside of the case, thereby grounding the chip and completing the current circuit. Now the fuel and temp gauges work perfectly.

My advice to people is to forget about getting SS stabilizer, rather open the original one and solder the chip the to the current board or just solder two wires to the two legs of the chips (chip comes with three legs with center as a ground, but i bend and broke that one as the chip grounds at it's top) and connect those to the B and I and screw the chip to a more accessible location behind the dash.
