Junk Silver Coins - 'Face Value' & Prices (Dimes, Quarters & Half Dollars)

90% Constitutional silver, or "Junk Silver" coins are priced differently than most bullion products. While rounds, coins, and bars typically are priced by their weight, either in troy ounces, grams, or kilograms, Junk Silver coins are priced by their "face value".

In this video I will do my best to explain what this term means, how much silver these coins actually contain, and how to avoid paying too much for 90% silver half dollars, quarters, and dimes.

Man it's INSANE how sites are selling a dollar face for over $30 when you can still get bullion below that. Great video for the newer stackers man. I have a ton of constitutional that I'll end up needing to do a video on later at some point when I have nothing else to show. Great points to tech buddy

Good topic. Not a lot of channels put out vids on 90% silver. Thanks

I went to the LCS yesterday. She’s just about out of junk. The premiums were high too. She just can’t keep it in the store!

Thankfully I got ahead of the curve and got $400 face value dimes and quarters when spot was at $20-$21. And for the record, SD has some of the highest premiums around.

If you back up the truck at the local LCS and pick a bunch of junk silver do you then have junk in the trunk? 😂

I have a pretty good stash of junk silver I bought back in the mid-2000's, including the US war nickel which technically is the smallest fractional junk silver coin. Good info on your channel!

I just picked up seven Eisenhower silver dollar coins, 40% . Three of them are proofs all in the US mint packaging for $50.
They're the 1971-74 S mint mark.
Plenty of private sellers out there who aren't dealers.

Very interesting and helpful! Thank you.

The mint still makes junk silver proof coins that can be purchased at lower premiums than pre 65 junk. But since it has modern dates they are less “recognizable” than the old stuff.

But it’s alright for fractional comparatively rn, with premiums so high
