Decentralized VS Distributed [Blockchain VS DLT]

Decentralized VS Distributed #blockchain. Many blockchain enthusiasts think that "distributed" is the ultimate state of decentralization. Such a misunderstanding was created by the popular image by P.Baran (created in 1964) that illustrated 3 types of networks: centralized, decentralized and distributed - which is not even about computer networks but a radio communication (!) and the research was about resilience of such networks to withstand a possible Soviet Union attack.

Decentralization and distribution are features of different nature. That's why permissioned/private DLTs even being distributed are not decentralized.

Thanks for making this video! It can be very difficult to understand these terms correctly. As a point of interest, Epic Cash is fully distributed, with all nodes (<4GB) equal to each other, and coins fungible. At 5:30 you spoke about mining and state that a PC cannot compete. In Epic, mining is decentralized to users' home PCs with polyphasic POW algorithms to strengthen the network

Hmm, quite interesting. thanks for sharing. I can't fighure out though, is the BNB Chain a distributed one, or decentralized...? Thx
